Recently Yardstick’s psychometric Gregs had an opportunity to work with the College of Opticians of Alberta (COA) on generating occupational health and safety competency statements. This was a very successful event and we want to share with you the model of “Subject, Object, Qualifier” that we used to arrive at the competency statements.

This week we achieved an enormous and impressive milestone: PCI compliance.

Have no idea what PCI compliance is? Neither did I, until I learned from our dev guys the huge amount of work and dedication that went into ensuring that Yardstick and all its parts are PCI compliant.

In two weeks, Yardstick will attend the ASAE Technology Conference in Washington, DC.

Held annually at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, this fantastic event is designed for CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, CXOs, and other technology experts to gain knowledge, perspective and insight into the technology issues facing associations and nonprofits.

We are pleased to announce Stage Five of the Assessment Life Cycle has been added to our white paper library.

This stage involves analyzing the data that has been collected from examination administration to psychometrically evaluate the quality of the items and exam forms. The test and all its items are evaluated to ensure that they meet minimally acceptable standards.

The Yardstick administrative office will be closed on Friday, November 11 in recognition of Remembrance Day. Yardstick is proudly Canadian and on this day we will stop to remember Canadian heroes who served their country and lost their lives in the line of duty.

Today we’re thrilled to announce the release of a new feature on our Yardstick Measure platform…exam forms.

With this new feature, you can maintain several banks of questions under one exam. This means that each bank of questions can represent a form of an exam, which gives authors the ability to serve several different forms of an exam automatically, randomly, and completely without bias.

When we initially designed our Measure platform, we looked for ways to built a software that would offer world-class administrative functionality, allowing site owners to assign responsibility based on role. Over time, this functionality became very valued amongst all our clients, particularly those in the licensing and certification fields.

Last week Yardstick’s three Gregs headed to Toronto to participate in CNNAR, the Canadian Regulators Conference. Since 2007, CNNAR has hosted this annual conference to address emerging regulatory issues and exchange information between licensing boards, accrediting agencies, examining bodies, government officials.

We searched high and low and received resumes applications from across Canada. It’s been fun connecting with professionals in the accounting world and we thank everyone who applied for our Accountant role. We have filled the role and are excited to welcome a new Yardsticker to our team.
