Yardstick Software is looking for an entrepreneurial, outgoing relationship builder to join our Edmonton office as the Product Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing to market a brand new SaaS product, Learner Verified. In addition, this role will market and develop strategic partnerships with potential clients.

What you'll be doing

Product Marketing

  • Development, implementation, and execution of a strategic marketing plan, created in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing team, to bring Learner Verified (a Yardstick product) to market
  • Market research/intelligence to understand primary clients and competitors
  • Identification of trends and highlights in customer needs in the marketplace, and collaboration with product development teams to set relevant objectives and goals
  • Development of product positioning and messaging based on competitive advantage
  • Project management, goal setting, and monetization of the LV product launch at the DevLearn industry trade show in Las Vegas

 

Business Development / Strategic Partnerships

  • Maintain existing relationships, and leverage these to secure a stable client base for LV within 3 months of beginning within the role
  • Partner with current LMS users and emphasize the value that LV will add, over and above the current system
  • Enable Sales team to communicate a strong value proposition and collaborate across the selling process
  • Develop partner networks across North America and drive results through partnerships
  • Develop and implement a partnership strategy to increase the impact and reach of Yardstick’s brand, especially LV
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to implement and grow partner relationships
  • Develop systems and processes to identify, engage, and develop strategic partnerships
  • Achieve partnership targets, and develop and manage financial metrics and reporting to demonstrate success of partnership initiatives
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on the partnership development pipeline
  • Evaluate and understand the dynamics of the testing marketplace, our customers and competitors, and act upon that understanding to increase market share and meet progressive annual budget targets
  • Further brand recognition and value through participation in industry events in the testing space and hosting creative events (such as webinars or conferences)
Qualities we love
  • Post-secondary education in Business (Marketing, Retailing & Services, or other similar)
  • Background in marketing / business; especially that which relates to product management and NEW product launches in the SaaS or technology space
  • Capability to proactively identify opportunities in an efficient and collaborative manner
  • Ability to analyze and interpret competitors’ actions, and react strategically with effective and timely actions to maintain or grow company’s market share
  • Understands industry technical data, market trends and customers’ requirements
  • Ability to effectively present information to audiences of varied sizes, including live software demos
  • Ability to plan, organize and delegate
  • Fearless ability to open up a conversation with anyone (whether through a phone call or at a networking event), and turn that connection into a lead
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with interpersonal strengths
  • Multitalented generalist with a strong interest in being on the cutting edge of innovation
  • Creative professional with event planning and coordination talents; able to bring together industry leaders and influence their perception of this new product
  • Strong sense of responsibility; someone who takes ownership of opportunities and sees them through
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • 3-5 years of experience with SaaS product marketing would be an asset
  • Experience working with government, non-profit, and private sector organizations an asset
  • Some travel may be required
