Our story

From high altitude to high-stakes.

It all started when our founders Chris LaBossiere and Don Riep took their flight exams. It felt like an ordeal from the 1970s. Why wasn’t the training and testing online? When so much depended this exam, why wasn’t it better? They looked up at the sky, and down at the new licenses in their hands. They had an idea that soared far beyond flying.

Trusted and reliable knowledge to build a safer, more confident world.

When we launched in 2002, we were a small practice exam company with a big idea: that technology and innovation could transform whole industries.

Since then, we’ve grown, evolved, and acquired, and we’ve emerged as leaders in online training, high-stakes testing, market research, and consulting.

With each new venture our focus is trust. We generate smart, actionable insights, about learners, candidates, products, and programs that affect millions of people every day. Everything we do supports our common goal: to build a safer, more confident world.
